Database-style Queries in Google Sheets using QUERY | Drive Bunny If you've ever done any work with relational databases, especially if you used a variant of the SQL language, then you'll be used to selecting and manipulating values programmatically: SELECT name, email FROM employees WHERE employee_id ='123'. Multitasking on your Chromebook just got easier: you can now dock any small window, like Hangouts or Google Keep, to the side of your screen by dragging it to the left or right edge. Your main app will resize automatically, letting you take notes or stay connected all in one view. Just restart your Chromebook and give it a try. from Natalia Lemoyne - Google+ Posts http://ift.tt/1kAue7M via IFTTT

The Paperless Classroom: Google Docs = The Environmentally and Budget Friendly Classroom

Gambar
The Paperless Classroom Ideal, right?  Here are some tips that can help you move towards a more environmentally and budget friendly paperless classroom. Using Google Docs to create assignments and share the assignments with students.  Your students will need a google account too.   What about a digital copy machine? This can be done by using " Doctopus " with this "add on" you can create copies of your assignments just as if you had done it with paper.  Doctopus will distribute the copies to your students, they will find the assignment in their Google Drive.  From there the students can work on their assignment individually or in groups because Doctopus can distribute the differentiated assignments to groups within your class. Not only that, but Doctopus also creates a folder structure on your Drive and on your Students Drive.  It also allows you to "embargo" documents, this is helpful when you don't want your students to work on an assignment after th

GCSD Technology in Education Awards

Educational Technology has been growing in our district.  With the implementation of a new wireless infrastructure across the district, teachers and students have now the ability to use wireless devices in each of the buildings.  More devices such as iPads and Chromebooks are now accessible to our students, as well as BYOD (Bring your Own Device) at the Highs School.   This allows for mobility and ease of access; this also means more online resources are being accessed by our teachers. Being a GAFE district (Google Apps For Education), Guilderland teachers and students are using Google Apps such as Docs, sheets, sites, blogger as well as Chrome apps and extensions.  While we have recently turned into a full GAFE district, some of us have gone above and beyond using the new available technologies in the classroom and with their students. It is for that reason that the "Technology in Education" Awards were born.  We have outstanding teachers here in Guilderland; why not acknow

Your Google Docs and Sheets on the Go- for everyone

Google has just released the new Google Docs and Google Sheets apps for mobile devices, iOS and Android.  While we already had google Drive, google has created a specific app for Docs and for Sheets.  This might be easier for those of us who need  a quick access to just documents and not the entire Drive.  It makes it easier to quickly create a new document since I do not have to browse my Drive app to find or create a document.  The same goes for sheets.  Another good advantage is that you can have multiple users use the same app.  Without having to type log in credentials since you just add the accounts once.  Google also offers a four digit passcode, to make multiple users access a breeze.
